Explaining FTZ Value with Clarity and Confidence: A Practical Messaging Framework for Grantees

Explaining FTZ Value with Clarity and Confidence: A Practical Messaging Framework for Grantees

Thursday, April 23, 2026 (2:00 PM - 3:00 PM) (EDT)

Description

In today’s evolving trade environment, how the U.S. Foreign-Trade Zone program is communicated matters more than ever.
NAFTZ has been working to refine and simplify how the value of the U.S. FTZ program is communicated, building on concepts introduced at the 2025 NAFTZ Annual Conference. The result is a practical, easy-to-use messaging framework designed to help Grantees clearly and consistently articulate the role and impact of U.S. FTZs within their communities.
This session will focus on how Grantees can apply this updated framework in real-world conversations with economic development partners, local stakeholders, and prospective zone users.
Topics will include:
  • Clear, consistent ways to communicate the value of U.S. FTZs
  • Practical language for use in outreach and stakeholder discussions
  • Tools and resources being developed to support Grantee communications
Consistent messaging across the U.S. FTZ community is critical to reinforcing the program’s value and addressing common misconceptions in the current policy environment.
